RF Immunity & Emission Systems
NARDA Italia has renewed its already well-known Immunity System with components and software for test management in accordance with the latest requirements of the IEC / EN 61000-4-6 standards.
Continuing with the philosophy of a "modular approach", a solution that has several advantages for actual use and for future system upgrades compared to the "compact", the main innovations are represented by a completely redesigned software (PIMS), the introduction of the new 3010 and 3030 RF Generators and the RMS 6630 Power Meter, all remotely controlled via the USB ports of any PC.
Unlikely the EMC Conducted Immunity System (refer to “PMM Cond-IS” documentation) for residential and industrial EUTs (Equipments Under Test) testing, “RF Radiated Immunity” compliance verification as for Standard IEC/EN 61000-4-3 requires a proper shielded and absorber lined testing enclosure where to inject required EM field-strength levels.
Depending on selected testing environment, which could be for example a Semi-Anechoic Chamber (SAC) or a GTEM Cell, some components to be used in the testing chain may significantly change, like Amplifiers or Antennas, while some others can remain the same at least up to 3 GHz, like Generator, Power Meter, Field Probe and Software for automatic management of both Calibration and Testing phases.
A so called “Radiated Immunity System” can still be defined for almost 80% of required components and that’s exactly why NARDA STS Italy has created “PMM Rad-IS” to fulfil core requirements of such kind of testing, leaving an open choice only for Amplifiers and Antennas/GTEMs to be driven as “slave units” while selected case by case according to the various EM field-strength levels.
Flexibility without Complexity!
EMC test software RadiMation from DARE!! Instruments combines Immunity and Emission testing, radiated as well as conducted tests, in one integrated software package for use throughout the entire EMC test facility.
Instead of automatizing just a few (Electric Magnetic Compatibility) EMC tests, the user of the RadiMation EMC test software can perform complete tests. RadiMation® EMC software is developed in close cooperation with external companies like EMC-accredited laboratories. The heart of this package is a closed loop system which is optimized so that measurements can be performed quickly and accurately. This package supports any brand of EMC test equipment, all standards such as civil, automotive, military, aerospace and the test results can be easily exported. Tests that are performed regularly, can be defined and implemented in series without the intervention of an engineer. All these properties together with the control of the device under test (EUT) and the automatic generation of a fully automated EMC test report makes fully automated testing a reality.
Flexible – Multifunctional – Expandable
EMC test systems can vary from simple an EMC test system with one or two instruments, to complex installations with many EMC measurement instruments connected, while in many cases even a turntable and an antenna mast should be controlled. In order to enable full automated EMC testing, these devices and measuring instruments, should be controlled in an automated manner. Where the EMC test software RadiMation acts as the software centre of the EMC system; the EMC test system RadiCentre is the core of the hardware. With the introduction of the RadiCentre by DARE!! Instruments, cost effective, full automated testing finally becomes reality!
